Maintaining the pelvic floor and muscles: The pelvic floor is made up of muscles that over time, age and childbirth can become weaker, using Kegel Balls are a great way to keep those muscles strong. Strengthening pelvic muscles after childbirth: after a women has completely healed from having a child, she can use Kegel Balls to strengthen pelvic muscles. This can help with bladder control, feeling tightness, and increase sensitivities that lead to stronger orgasms. Increasing the intensity of Kegel exercise:, Kegel exercises can be done without Kegel Balls, and can be done anywhere. Adding Kegel balls can challenge for your muscles. Just like resistance weight training at the gym, many switch things up by using added weight and different sizes. Increased orgasms/extra stimulation during penetration: Doing Kegel exercises will strength and can help have control over the main muscles involved for orgasms. being able to engage them during penetrative sex won’t only feel amazing for you, but your partner as well. Engaging pelvic floor muscles during sex can increase the frequency and intensity of female orgasms during solo and coupled play. Sensation play: Kegel balls made of glass or metal material can be warmed or chilled before being inserted, this feature creates a fun twist while wearing them with a partner or self play.

When and who should not use Kegel Balls: Though most everyone can use this toy, there are some times and conditions that we recommended not using them, and encourage you to ask a doctor before use if any of the below apply to you:

When looking for the right Kegel balls it is important to consider a few things such as:

  • Size

  • Weight

  • Material

  • Features

SIZE: Size is the most important thing to look at, when choosing the right Kegel toy for you. The larger the Kegel Balls the lighter the weight is, as the size decreases the weight increases.

If you are new to Kegel exercises we recommend starting with larger sized Kegel Balls, they are much easier to navigate and keep in. As your pelvic muscles become stronger, you can add smaller sizes to continue strengthening and training your pelvic floor.

WEIGHT: The weight of Kegel balls are important to consider, because this is accentually the weight that you will be holding with your pelvic muscles, not being able to use your new toy because it is too light or too heavy can be very frustrating.

Keep in mind that some styles of Kegel Balls often have three individual balls or sets of 3 units (depending on the brand) and each unit or individual set is a different weight. light, medium and heavy, those specific weights will very with brand. When browsing toys, look at the weight and dimensions before purchasing. Many Brands list the weights on the front or back of their packaging. If purchasing online weights and other details will be listed in the products description.

MATERIAL: Kegel Balls typically come in three materials.

  • Silicone

  • Metal

  • Glass

These materials allow Kegel Balls to move smoothly once they are inserted, being able to move freely and be manipulated by different activities and exercises.

Glass Balls are great for sensation play and are non porous they can easily cleaned. Glass tends to be a bit lighter as they do not add weight to the inside of glass balls, they weight is solely of the Glass. this material like metal can be warmed up with hot water or cooled down in the refrigerator or cold water. NEVER HEAT IN MICROWAVE.

Metal Balls can be hollow, solid metal or hollow with a smaller weighted ball inside, this causes a gyrating sensation as the ball moves, much like the geshia hand ball for arthritis. Metal balls range in weight, and can be used for sensation play.

Silicone Balls are generally made out of a nonporous silicone, and naturally warms with body temperature. This material is used to cover different weighted balls giving them a soft velvety feel. Silicone material can feel softer and more comfortable than glass or metal.

Some features of silicone styles can include gyrating movements, vibration sensations, and the different weights, and sizes can be placed in a silicone holder when inserted, giving the wearer more control and can help removing the toy easier.

Each material can have a different weight and feel and is completely up to the personal preference of each women.

***We don’t recommend using Kegel Balls that are made of plastic material or connected with string, both of these materials are porous and can hold bacteria, and over time and continued use these toys can cause infections.***

Using Ben Wa Balls for Pleasure: Using Ben Wa Balls during penetrative sex or masturbation can lead to increased pleasure, extra stimulation for your partner, and stronger orgasms. Silicone, glass, and metal can be used during penetration. Individual balls may be more pleasurable for some as they are able to move more freely and increase more sensations during Kegel exercises, intercourse and masturbation.

***Be cautious when using glass or metal materials during penetration, as it is possible that your partners foreskin can become pitched if it happens to slide in-between the surface of both Kegel Balls causing discomfort and pain.***

INSERTING: Once you have received and cleaned your Kegel balls, you are ready to insert them. we suggest laying on your back with a pillow under your hips to tilt your pelvic slightly, start with the first ball and gently slide inside with your finger, if you feel resistance do not force the toy, just take a few breathes relax and try again. Repeat with each ball. You may also do this laying on your side if that is more comfortable. Many styles of silicone Kegel Balls either come attached to a silicone string, or have a silicone holder in which Kegel balls can slide in or out of. These are inserted the same way, inserting the silicone as well until you reach the end. Once inserted the silicone string stays outside the body (like a tampon string). If you have trouble inserting your Kegel Balls or are experiencing dryness, you may apply a lubricant to help ease any friction.

REMOVING KEGEL BALLS: Removing Kegel Balls that are connected or are in a silicone holder are the easiest to remove all at once, making it convenient for beginners. Just simply pull the string on the outside of the body and the toy will gently slide out.

Kegel Balls without this string are still safe to use vaginally, though they can be a bit more difficult to remove, the best way to do this is to relax your pelvic floor, releasing your pelvic muscles and squat baring down, you will feel the Kegel Balls slip out (we recommend doing this over carpet or soft surface to prevent damage to your toy if it falls). Do not panic if Kegel Balls don’t come out immediately. Just take a walk around, readjust, breathe, and let gravity work its magic.

  • Kegel balls WILL NOT get lost once inserted into the vagina.

  • NEVER insert individual Kegel balls in the anus. They will disappear and can cause serious medical emergencies.

  • Clean your toys before inserting and after removal to insure they are body ready.

  • Metal Kegel Balls will set metal detectors off, so remove toy before traveling.

  • Kegel Balls may slip out unexpectedly, be aware of your surroundings.

  • Kegel balls may be left inserted for long periods of time, but should be removed after exercises or activities are completed.
